I'm Gonna Throw Up

Really? Your baby is pro-choice?
Nausea and an upset stomach were my initial reactions when i entered the "Catholics for Choice" website. My first instinct would have been to just take some peptobismol, but in this case, not even pepto could do the job.

They're mission? To "shape and advance sexual and reproductive ethics that are based on justice, [to] reflect a commitment to women’s well-being and respect and affirm the capacity of women and men to make moral decisions about their lives." So the question is, moral or Godly?

"The transmission of human life is a most serious role in which married people collaborate freely and responsibly with God the Creator. It has always been a source of great joy to them, even though it so
metimes entails many difficulties and hardships." -Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae

Now
"Godly" can be interpreted in many ways, all I do know is what our Catholic Church teaches but I guess "Catholics for condoms" totally skipped the intro to one of Pope Paul VI's most informing and guiding documents which we use very closely to guide us today. They tell us to act "in good conscience", however, condone the use of condoms, birth control, and even abortion if it is in the "moral decision" of the woman making it. And you call yourselves Catholics? Since when is killing an innocent being moral?

I believe that sometimes it is hard for people to simply accept the Truth that God teaches us and in defense want to replace it with what is more convenient for us, for our life, for our own pleasure, not God and the life HE gave us. We want everything to be easier for us, but do we really stop and ask ourselves, are we acting in "good conscience"? Are we aware of what is right and wrong? Do we believe what is right and wrong? And even more yet, are we bending that "right" or "wrong" to better fit our lifestyle and/or convenience?

Amen to that!!! None of this is about religion or the "right to choose" This is all an attempt to create systems and put certain cultures in place so that we don't feel GUILTY for doing things we KNOW are wrong (morally, politically, socially etc...) If there is a system in place to allow us these actions then we don't feel like TOTAL losers for abandoning the lifestyle God intended for us. We feel a little horrible but only our pillows at night know that. The rest of us beat our chest and some even convince themselves that what they are doing is okay. Yeah okay, then why is your conscience killing you?

The conscience is one of the most wonderful things God has created because no matter how far from HIS teachings you try to get YOU CAN'T get rid of the feeling of knowing you are in sin (unless you've sold your soul to the devil...and not even then)

I just hope one day your pillow talks back.

Amen girl! Thanks for your insight. Thanks (or not thanks) to original sin when the serpent told the woman they will be able to be like God if they eat the fruit, we now suffer the consequences of wanting to be God and determining whats "good" or "bad" to accommodate our lifestyles like you said. But deep down, we hear the voice of God, many just choose to ignore it because we feel our voices speak louder and make more sense. But like the Casting Crowns song says: "Out of all the voices coming out to me, I will choose to listen and BELIEVE, the voice of TRUTH!
What is TRUTH said Pilate to Jesus...
